AviaSkill

Accessibility

Our target, what we do about it, and where we know we fall short.

Last Updated: October 2026

We want AviaSkill to be usable by as many student pilots and instructors as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is a target, not a certification: we have not had an independent audit, and we do not claim full conformance.

What We Do

  • Our color system is designed for AA contrast, and focus indicators on interactive elements are checked against the non-text contrast minimum.
  • Right and wrong answers are shown with an icon and text, never color alone.
  • Charts carry a text summary for screen readers instead of exposing every data point as a separate tab stop.
  • Status and error messages are announced to screen readers, and we run automated accessibility checks on our pages during development.

Known Limitations

  • Automated checks do not find every barrier. We have not completed a full manual review of every page with assistive technology, so some issues may remain.
  • Study content includes FAA figures, charts, and diagrams. Some may not have a complete text alternative, and some contain information that is hard to convey in text.
  • Some pages use third-party services, such as payment processing. We do not control their accessibility.

Tell Us About a Barrier

If something on AviaSkill is hard or impossible to use, email support@aviaskill.com with the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you use. See our Support page for what to expect after you write. We will look at every report and fix what we can.
